Rebekah Valentine is currently serving as the 2017-2018 Preserve WV AmeriCorps member at Waldomore. While here she will be organizing and inventorying artifacts, creating an exhibit, assisting with and developing house tours, as well as recruiting and training volunteers.
This past spring, she graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Theology and Religious Studies. On campus, she was active in the history club and had the opportunity to travel to many destinations in Europe. These trips and experiences furthered her passion for history, which led her to apply to be the AmeriCorps member at Waldomore.
Rebekah says, “attending a Jesuit University that pushed students to serve and become ‘men and women for others’ motivated me to do a year of service post-graduation. I joined Preserve WV as a way to help my local community and state, but also as a way to gain experience while helping me get one step closer to my dream of working the National Archives or the Holocaust Museum in D.C.”.
